What more can a massive crowd in Mumbai, witnessing an Indian victory against Australia ask for? Twenty20 though not a fully evolved sport yet has already been well captivated by the Indians and another convincing victory against Australia has certainly proved to the cricketing world that Indians are the true champions in this newly invented form of the game. Even a slightest struggle could have triggered the critical minds but hats off to Dhoni and his crew for not letting that happen.
About the game, Australians are only a little away to have a thorough grip into the game and when that happens, they are always a serious threat to any champions whatsoever. At present, Australians themselves are claiming that it would take time for them to adapt but i certainly dont agree to that. They have already taken the game well and it is their sloppy extras and bowling that has taken away from winning the game. Even though australians are the world champions in the regular ODI format, losing a game has brought their momentum down and it is India who has made that impact on them. It is not easy to win against Australia and definitely not when the Australians are dying to win. Again, all credit to India and it is so refreshing and nice to see that they have come out in flying colors. The young talent is the essence of winning the Twenty20's and it would make the selectors think twice on selecting our authentic players for the forthcoming ODI seasons. Certainly Rahul dravid has been recently sloppy and is very much in the verge of losing his spot for ODI's. There is so much talent waiting in the queue and everyone has shown their flair in the game. Particularly Gautham Gambir, Uthappa and Rohit Sharma are going to be the next generation leads under Dhonis vision. With more prominence like Bhadrinath waiting for a spot, it is getting to a never ending list of talents. But the only threatening factor as always in India has been their bowling department. India cannot win matches with just the batting line up. Indian bowling has become like a game of cards and bowling has always been lucky like a joker in the rummie game. After kapil dev and Srinath, it is not so very convincing to believe that a nation of immense size is not able to produce much more quality bowlers. Fast bowling is a thorough lack in the team and if India can get even one bowler as quick and accurate as Bret Lee, they can very well retain their championship title for a long time to come.
With all said, Twenty20 currently belongs to India and they can unarguably raise their shoulders and pose a champion's face. To that end, Dhoni himself said in the presentation ceremony, "We wanted to prove the world that winning the Twenty20 world cup was not a fluke".
