Very few actors have left a solid impression in the world of cinema. One among them is our evergreen and everlasting legend called Nagesh. It is a great loss for the tamil film freternity and an himalayan loss for every home that knows Nagesh. But the loss is kind of subdued by the great Nagesh himself. We just got to convince ourself by watching many of his masterpieces and soulful performances from the past. I think even the word Legend kind of lessens the value of Nagesh but I don't think that a dictionary could solve the puzzle either. He is undoubtedly the Indian Charlie Chaplin and a free medicine/doctor to every home in tamilnadu. I think many lives would have been extended purely because of Nagesh and his laughter therapy.
Following movies can bring those fresh memories back and bring you back into life.
- Thiruvilayaadal (This is an Oscar performance without a doubt) .
- Edhir Neechal, Neerkumizi, Sarvar Sundaram, Thillu Mullu, Bama vijayam (Nagesh at his very best with KB).
- Kadhalikka Naeramillai.
- Anuvhavi Raja Anubhavi.
- Thillana Mohanambal.
- Indhran Chandran, Aboorva Sagodharargal(great first villain performance), Avvai Shanmugi, Magalir Mattum, Michael Madana KamaRajan, Dasavatharam (Nagesh last movie) - These were some of his best associations in sharing the screen with Padmashri Kamal Haasan.
What i've shown above is only the tip of an iceberg. There are so many dimensions in Nagesh's acting. If Sivaji is the acting library, Nagesh is the best book in that library. Again, there are only a very few who can bring out every bits and pieces of human emotions and Nagesh is a tailor made genius to back such roles filled with emmaculate challenges. As far as tamil industry is concerned, to classify someone in the world best and most versatile actors list, it can only include Sivaji, Nagesh & Kamal Haasan. PERIOD.
Its been a definite honor to have lived during the period of this legend and I'm also blessed to have been to his house; slept in his house. My Uncle is the class mate of Anand Babu (Nagesh son) and so was that opportunity to meet this legend.
May his soul rest in piece and my sincere thanks to a legend for his contribution to one and all family involved during his lifetime.

I can understand your writings about Nagesh. I feel the same. Believe me or not! In late 80's I was depressed for few weeks and the best medicine was watching Nagesh Movies everyday for two weeks. I became alright. I will never forget Nagesh for this. I have spoken to him personally about this and he attributed all his success to his directors.
By the way I visited your Home studio blogs today. Kicha, you are rocking man. You have abundant talent and you should choose one line and concentrate more on it. I am sure you will reach heights. All the best. You are very inspiring personality.

I accept that nagesh was a free medicine to all of us.
Thanks a lot for visiting my home studio youtube space. Its been my passion to setup something like that and practice music. Though i'm not trained, i'm only learning the technology involved in the music world and trying to create those everlasting tunes that ARR and Illayaraja has left for us. It is quite amazing and a long way to go :) Please keep checking my youtube page and let me know your comments there.
